The Concept

Shard Place (aka Fielden House), a slender residential tower designed to complement The Shard and The News Building, represents the third phase of the redevelopment of the area around London Bridge Station. The 26-story tower, a third of the height of The Shard, comprises 148 luxury apartments, for a total of 15,000 sqm (161,500 sq ft), and nearly 1,100 sqm (12,000 sq ft) of retail space at St Thomas and London Bridge Street levels. The development raises 9 m (29 ft) above concourse level, and 16 m (52 ft) above St Thomas Street, creating generous public realm amenities.

HEIGHT

96 m / 315 ft

Apartments are naturally ventilated with whole house ventilation; furthermore private amenity space for residents is provided with single glazed winter gardens, naturally heated and cooled spaces, able to be used year round. The residential building is highly sustainable and designed to meet Code for Sustainable Homes 4, while Shard Place Retail has achieved BREEAM Excellent interim in 2019.
