The curtain wall façade concept was introduced in the Netherlands in this monumental building from 1969. The old double skin facade of single float glass has been replaced by new glass with the correct thickness that meets all current performance criteria. By developing and testing a new and specific glazing profile it was possible to exchange the glass while preserving the architecture. All of the glass released from the building is reused or processed in various others applications.
Replacing and renovating of 6,000 sqm (66,700 sq ft) single-skin façade by double-skin, laminated glass façade.
